Hi Reader!
Have you ever noticed how we spend months looking forward to summer...
Only to arrive completely exhausted?
We push ourselves to get through the school year.
To finish the project.
To hit the deadline.
To make it to vacation.
And then we finally cross the finish line with nothing left in the tank for the part we were actually looking forward to.
I've been increasingly curious about why so many of us are taught to pay attention to our productivity, but not our orientation.
We're encouraged to keep going.
To push through. To stay motivated.
But what if exhaustion isn't a sign that you've failed?
What if it's a signal?
One of the things Sara Adamchak and I explored on her Don't Keep Your Daydream podcast is how my 6+ year daily walk streak became less about exercise and more about learning to listen.
Over time, walking became one of the ways I noticed what my life was showing me.
Some days it helps me process.
Some days it helps me reset.
Some days it helps me notice that what I thought was a motivation problem was actually a support problem.
The longer I study how people find, lose, and regain their orientation in life, the more convinced I become that many of us already have signals pointing us toward what we need.
We just haven't learned how to interpret them yet.
If you've been feeling depleted, stuck, disconnected, or like the wheels have fallen off your bus a little lately, I think you'll enjoy this conversation.

And as you head into summer, consider-
What might your life be trying to show you right now?
What signals have you been too busy to notice?
